About Olive (I'm not active, who are you people.. But, bro I need to update this)
Olive Ortega Reyes is a private eye as well as a criminal. At the time of vol 8, Olive is 31 to 33 years old in canon. She is exactly 2 years younger than Roman Torchwick and 8 years older than Neo. This oc involves a lot of Roman Holiday lore so spoilers ahead.Olive was born in Argus, the second child to the Reyes family. She has one older sibling, Thorn, who is 4 years older than her. Both had a rough upbringing as their parents were abusive. Olive had her mother's family semblance of Destruction. The semblance was once referred to as the curse of destruction, however later on it is renamed as The Destruction of Creation by Olive.
Thorn lucked out and had the semblance of creation. However, Thorn still exhibited destructive tendencies.
Her brother got into crime as a guaranteed way to get out of Argus And she followed suit. The two worked together till he left on his 18th birthday, leaving the 14 year old on her on. Thorn proceeded to join tbe Spiders and when Olive turned 15, she ran off to Mistral. The siblings reunited, but a question was raised. What to do with Olive. Lil Miss had her own idea and insisted that she be sent off to one of the huntsman academies to become a huntress that works for them. Having a huntress around would make things easier for them.
Olive’s training started that day and kept going. At first it was just her and her brother, but when she was 16.. They both met a candle’s flame.Roman and Olive weren’t friendly to each other at first. The newly initiated spider was taken in by Thorn after the harsh ‘initiation’ he received. For about 5 lien per hour, Thorn was paying him to just fight his sister.
The two often argued and despised each other. It wasn’t really the bonding experience you would expect, but hey.. Enemies to friends to lovers, am I right?It was a more growing to not hate each other kind of thing. Maybe Olive would get him a water bottle.. Maybe Roman would get her a bandaid. It was slow and honestly, it’s better that way. Soon those small moments became some form of a friendship.. Some form.And while that was happening, a 17 year old Olive got that letter she was waiting for. An acceptance to Beacon academy. Haven and Atlas were too close to Argus for her liking. Plus, she couldn’t do Vacuo.. Not with that sun.So that left Beacon.. and it was Beacon she chose. Of course, this required loans to be taken out. This placed Thorn in debt with two people.. Lil Miss and another man who was in Vale.. Damien (an oc made by #kissedbyaninccubus on twitter). Damien is an important tool that might help us later. So.. That left the 17 year old to head off to Beacon.To make a very long fucking story short, (might update

Olive is part of team COHR. Cole Ebony is team leader.. he
only thrives off of others accomplishments. Olive becomes friends with Sorrel, another beacon student. However, Sorrel drops out at the end of the year, joining the life of crime. During her time at Beacon, she did develop a bond with Ozpin. This was mostly paternal, but it quickly went away on her end by the end of her time at Beacon. They lose their first vytal festival.. Olive and Cole do get together, then split.. Olive wins her second Vytal festival.. And oh

Upon her graduation, things got worse. The team argued the night of while in forever fall. Truth was that Olive's crimes during the breaks came to light. To Cole, she was nothing more than a bloody criminal. The fallout was dreadful and attracted grimm... The team fought them off, but not without sustaining injuries, especially her teammate Heli. She got stuck in the crossfire of Olive using her semblance on a grimm and sustained an injury on her arm. It was clear at that point that team COHR was no more. The fallout was too painful. So Olive ran off, her guilt driving her to the life that was clear she was meant for. Truth was that she was starting to like the idea of being a huntress, but specifically solving mysteries. However, that was crushed that night. She knew who she was and with the help of a man named Aureli, she managed to get on a boat to Mistral. It was her golden chariot to escape on..As such, Olive hid with Roman. She couldn't show her face to the spiders and she certainly couldn't show her face back in Vale. She was already risking it in staying with a spider, but he was all she had left. The two are on and off relationship wise at this point.
However, this wouldn't last long as Damien reentered her life. Her brother's debt was now hers and he expected her to get it to him in a timely manner. If she didn't, she'd face the same fate as her brother or possibly risk losing the one person that mattered most to her.
So Olive sat through her options and decided it was best to do what she was originally sent to Beacon to do. She was going to use her huntress license to her advantage. She left for Vale once again when she was 24 and became a private detective at the age of 25. Her main goal was to offer a way for criminals to get info on important figures or important figures to get info on their rivals. It stopped mattering to her who she hurt. All that mattered was that the debt got paid. It was getting the information that was the questionable part. So, she posed as her brother.. She took up his alias, stealing a helmet and a voice changer. It was simply easier to disguise herself as someone she knew the mannerisms of. It wasn’t a coping mechanism. If she needed information, she simply stole it.No one likes how the sausage gets made, but people still eat it. This was no different.However, when she was 26.. Roman Torchwick came to Vale. It was an awkward experience for the two, especially since he was making quite the name for himself. Everyone had his respect and she was willing to get info on anyone. However, during this time two people approached her. Aureli and Sorrel.. Both were involved with Damien and wanted help to get out.. Soon, another approached Olive. A Huntsman named Phoebus. The four teamed up..They planned on taking down Damien’s whole set up.However, this was also the same night Roman and Neo were at the Vanille mansion.. So while they were dealing with that, the gathered four snuck into Damien’s base of operations and managed to take down the hard drive. It was escaping that was a problem.. All four of them ran before crashing through a window, landing on the ground below. This was her revenge. She wanted to see his empire fall.The night ended with them all hiding out at Olive’s apartment till Torchwick and Neo came. Like Roman, her and Neo didn’t hit it off at first, but a bond eventually grew.Throughout the 3 to 5 years that followed, Olive spent her days as herself and the nights pretending to be her brother, either doing work for criminals who paid or personally ending Damien’s empire within the underground. She didn’t care who filled that power vacuum.. Just as long as Damien was penniless. She was in a good relationship with Roman and thought life would be fine.Then, RWBY started-
Olive was left in the dark for the most part about the plans for Beacon. All she could do during this time is work on cases and occasionally bump into Roman. The two were always professional if it came down to work. It was also during volume 2 that Olive took in a young girl named Lavender. However, after the breach, Olive was hired to take on the case of figuring out what was going on by Ozpin.She was unsure if he knew the truth about her occupation.
However, Olive simply did as she was told. She helped out and hoped she could bail her lover out.
She was at the academy when the Fall happened and was mainly helping out Qrow as well as Glynda. This changed once the airship went down. Olive immediately went to go check for any hope of Roman surviving or any sign of Neo..She found nothing. The next few months were a blur. All she could remember was staying with Sorrel temporarily on Patch. However, the one thing she could fully remember was finalizing the adoption for Lavender. If she was going to keep going, it would be to take care of her kid and be the mother her own mother was not.It was decided soon after that team SOAP would officially form.. The four adults planned to relocate to Mistral. It seemed safer there and they could possibly be more successful with crime. However, there was one issue. Damien. Olive wasn’t wanting to kill him.. She wanted justice the normal way. This changed one night when Damien was close to killing the new team. Up to this point, Olive’s want for revenge was just ruining Damien’s empire. However, at this point there was no other option. She did what she had to do..And he was dead.Olive didn’t see rwby +co again till Haven. It was then there that she decided to follow Qrow, wanting to actually get answers as to what happened. She was with the group when the Bruinswick farms incident happened and stuck with her team when located in Argus.
When arriving in Atlas, Olive went on her own to become a private investigator there. Life was good once again. Lavender was happy, her team was happy.. till the fall of AtlasAnd that’s all there is.
Semblance (HELLO?? WHY ARE YOU HERE?))
The Destruction of creationOriginally, the semblance was called the curse of destruction. A family semblance.. A curse believed to be from the gods for an old family story of working with an immortal man.
It only became The Destruction of Creation when her brother died.. He was the Creation of a Heart..When activated, upon a touch, her semblance will destroy the object. Slowly crumbling away as it destroys itself. She can only destroy things up to 6ft infront of her. Using her semblance on human flesh results in a cruel and painful decay of the first two layers of skin.However, this is not a semblance she can use well. Every person with it has their own limitations. Whether it be not knowing it, ignoring it, or the generational trauma it has created.Olive’s limitation is that she can not use the semblance without an attack. The way she unlocked her semblance was traumatic. She can not use it without being reminded of it. It also does not help that this semblance resulted in a teammate of hers getting injured. As such, Olive can only use it so much before the mental toll grows.Only with time and healing will she ever truly grow with her semblance.As of volume 8, she can use it up to 3 to 4 times before it sets in.The only time the idea of limitations has ever been challenged is when she is under extreme amounts of adrenaline. However, the attack afterwards will be much worse, possibly even spreading into the next day or two.This semblance also drains her aura as her aura is more concentrated on protecting her hands. This is more of a weakness than it ever will be a strength.As such, Olive focuses on fighting without a semblance.. In an effort to make up for the liability she has become.
Semblance unlocked
Olive unlocked her semblance at the age of ten due to wandering off from a family picnic in the woods. She fell into a small cave and was stuck there till she unlocked her semblance. This was one of the rare good memories she had, but it quickly was soured by the circumstances of her semblance unlocking. Due to the stress and anxiety of the situation, she unlocked it and immediately collapsed.Um, if you are seeing this, why are you here? I'm not active anymore on this rp site.
